Final Fantasy VII: Dirge Of Cerberus - Gun Basics

Filed Under: Final Fantasy VII: Dirge Of Cerberus

This game has lots of different gun parts all of which are very beneficial to Vincent and you as you play through the game. His handgun; Cerberus just isn't enough to finish it, you need rifles, machine guns, and customisable barrels that you can change from time to time to suit different enemies, This section describes the basics of gun customisation, the what and what-nots.
Vincent has three weapon slots that you can assign a different weapon configurations to. These can be switched between using the L2 button. The best thing is the same gun part can be assigned to each. There is no need to have three identical gun parts for each weapon.

Customising

How you customise your gun is dependant on two main factors. The first factor being: your own playing style; for example you may prefer a machine gun, but if you are going for s ranks, you will want a more powerful gun with better accuracy. Secondly it is dependant on the situation of the missions. It is recommended that you have three different configurations already customised so you can easily flick between three guns. For example, on my file, i have the first gun as the Cerberus Hand gun with the normal barrel and a materia booster and floater. This is ideal for most situations, and as i use it as a standard gun, it is very good for acheiving S rank. The next gun is the Griffon, this machine gun has the normal barrel equipped again, but you could equip the short barrel so it weighs less and you move faster. It takes machine gun bullets, so the gun is entirely different to the last one. This is more suitable for when you are faced against lots of enemies. This is also equipped with a power booster and Cerberus Defense. You will need more firepower and defense if you are up against more enemies. The last and final configuration is the Rifle, it has a sniper scope and long barrel for range and is very heavy. I have also equipped the power booster too, so you can take enemies down with critical hits. This is great for snipering missons, or when you want to camp and take enemies out one by one with stealth.

This is just a small chart explining what each parameter means. It will help you gain a better understanding of Gun parts before you start going in indepth like i have stated prieviously.

Gun Part Parameters

Category Name Explanation
WT Weight The heavier the part, the slower Vincent moves when the gun is raised.
POW Power Higher the value, the more power the gun has and more damage it wil take off.
SPD Speed Firing rate is dependant on this value. The higher the value, the quicker the guns reload,a dn succesion/fire rate.
RNG Range The higher the value, the longer the shot you can shoot. Also a higher range can mean you can lock onto an enemy further away.
LONG Long The higher the value, the better the accuracy at long range distances.
MED Medium Medium range accuracy, the value when higher means the gun is better accuracy at medium range distances.
SHORT Short Effective at short range accuracy, higher the value, better gun is at ahort range distances.
