Items Play a huge role in Final Fantasy VII. You will find them everywhere you go, will be given them for doing various quests etc, and basically all the enemies carry them. The main thing to do when it comes to tems is to search everywhere; all nooks and crannies, look in places you would not think would have items. Another way is by stealing from enemies; to enable this you need the steal materia (visit materia sections for more info). Morphing can also give you items but you will need materia for that too.
These are free ways of getting items, one main excellent cheap way is to buy them from various shops during your journey. You can hold a maximum of 99 items, excluding key
items.
